ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

WHITNEY CANION-REICHENSTEIN
A 2024 Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Canion Reichenstein owns pretty much every pitching record in the books for Baylor softball. In a six-year career that included two redshirt seasons, she compiled a record of 123-54 with 10 saves and a 1.60 ERA with 1,473 strikeouts, a mark that is almost twice as many as the next pitcher on the list. The 2008 Gatorade Player of the Year when she led Aledo High School to the Class 4A state championship, Canion Reichenstein was Baylor’s ace from Day One, twice leading the Bears to the WCWS (2011, 2014) and three Super Regionals. As a senior in 2014, Whitney was 31-12 with a 1.63 ERA, two saves and 306 strikeouts. She had her Baylor jersey No. 11 retired in 2015. Now the DFO at R&L Electric, Whitney and her husband, Luke Reichenstein, have two children, a son, Nolan; and daughter, Reagan.

CHELSI LAKE-REICHENSTEIN
A three-time first-team All-Big 12 pick, Lake Reichenstein was inducted into the Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018. The program’s first true power hitter, she was the school record-holder for home runs (44), doubles (48) and RBIs (184) when her four-year career ended (2003-07) and still ranks second. Lake-Reichenstein led the Bears to their first four NCAA Regional berths and Baylor’s first Women’s College World Series berth in 2007. She hit .345 and set then-school records with 15 homers and a Big 12-leading 65 RBIs as a sophomore when the Bears made their first Super Regional appearance. The next year, she hit a career-high .362 with 18 homers and 52 RBI, earning third-team All-America honors. For a 51-win team that made it to the WCWS, Lake Reichenstein hit .301 with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs. Chelsi and her husband, Jake, a former Baylor football letterman, have two sons, Jake Junior (“Jakers”) and Chase.

GLENN MOORE
Now in his 25th year as Baylor softball’s head coach, Moore is Baylor Athletics’ all-time wins leader across all sports, coming into this season with a record of 914-466 at Baylor and 1,053-508 overall in 28 full seasons as a Division I softball coach. He has led the Bears to 16 NCAA Regional appearances, seven Super Regionals and four Women’s College World Series berths in 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2017. His team also won a Big 12 championship in 2007 and the National Invitational Softball Championship in 2022. In his tenure, Baylor has had 17 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 15 NFCA All-America honors and 96 all-conference selections. A native of Liberty Mississippi, Moore played football and baseball at Southwest Mississippi Community College before playing tight end at Northwestern (La.) State. He and his wife, Janice, have two children, daughter, Jacey, and son, Ty, a wide receiver at Northwestern State.
