A Heart for Justice

Elizabeth “BB” Sanford

For Elizabeth “BB” Sanford, making the world a better place is a calling she lives out daily through courage, compassion, and conviction.

A three-time Baylor graduate, BB’s journey from International Studies to Truett Seminary to Baylor Law reflects her desire to serve both people and purpose. As the first graduate of Baylor’s joint M.Div./J.D. program, she combined her faith and legal training to champion justice in the workplace as a partner and owner at The Sanford Firm in Dallas.

Sanford has earned national recognition for her work, including D Magazine’s Best Lawyers Under 40, Texas Rising Star by Super Lawyers, and The National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40. Yet what truly sets her apart is her heart for people and her drive to live out her faith through action. From Truett preaching classes that sharpened her advocacy to professors who continue to inspire her, BB credits Baylor with shaping the way she leads and serves.

This year, she is honored as Baylor’s Young Alumna of the Year, an award recognizing graduates under 40 who have achieved distinction through exceptional contributions to community, state, national, or international welfare. Beyond her courtroom work, BB serves the profession and community widely—as president of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, trustee of its foundation, board member of the Dallas Bar Association, and active participant in state and national employment law organizations. She also returns to Baylor as a guest speaker and mentor, continuing to inspire the next generation of Bears.
