Join the Baylor Family at the Texas Sports Hall of Fame for the Lunch with a Legend Series as John Morris, The Voice of the Bears, sits down with Alfred Anderson (BS '98), former Baylor running back and player for the Minnesota Vikings. Anderson's impressive career spans eight seasons with the Vikings, during which he was named to the Pro Football Writers of America NFL All-Rookie Team!
After the program, take a tour through the Texas Sports Hall of Fame, a museum honoring more than 400 Texas legends and home to 6,000 pieces of sports memorabilia.

More than 40 years later, Alfred Anderson still ranks fifth all-time in career yards rushing at Baylor with 2,424 yards and second in career touchdowns with 35. Inducted into the Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997, Anderson was just the fourth 1,000-yard rusher in program history when he tallied 1,046 yards as a senior in 1983, earning unanimous All-Southwest Conference honors. He was a freshman on the 1980 SWC championship team that played in the Cotton Bowl and then rushed for 103 yards in the 1983 Bluebonnet Bowl, adding a 28-yard touchdown pass to Gerald McNeil.
A local product from Richfield High School, Anderson was rated the top quarterback prospect in Texas in the 1980 recruiting class before switching to running back at Baylor.
A third-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings, Anderson was named to the Pro Football Writers of America NFL All-Rookie Team in 1984, when he rushed for a career-best 773 yards. Playing eight seasons with the Vikings, he finished his pro career with 2,374 yards and 22 touchdowns rushing and added 1,042 yards and five TDs on 114 catches.
Alfred has been an advocate with the Tarrant County Advocate Program since 2011.
