A Smile with a Story: Baylor Brothers Open Dental Practice in Restored Elgin Landmark

July 18, 2025

Brothers Steven (BBA ’09) and Robbie Cutbirth (BBA ’21) credit their Baylor experience for helping lay the foundation for their most meaningful project yet!

Inspired by values of integrity, hospitality, and community, the Cutbirth family recently restored the historic 1890 O’Connor Building in downtown Elgin, TX, transforming it into Cutbirth Family Dental, a modern practice infused with green-and-gold charm and small-town care.

From marketing classes with Dr. Kendall Artz to leadership lessons from Dr. Dub Oliver, the brothers say their Baylor education gave them the confidence and tools to lead with purpose.

“In a time when most of dentistry is moving toward corporate ownership, we see an opportunity to treat patients like family,” Steven shared.

Their story isn’t just about a beautifully restored space—it’s about building something lasting, together. “It was truly a joy to celebrate our grand opening with so many familiar faces—friends, classmates, ATO brothers, and colleagues,” Steven said.
