From Baylor to the Big Stage

October 24, 2025

From The Voice stage to Sunday mornings in Waco, Holly Tucker (BA ’15) continues to live out her calling through music and ministry. A third-generation Bear, Holly has built a remarkable career as a singer-songwriter.

She’s shared the stage with some of country music’s biggest names and performed the National Anthem for teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, Texas Rangers, Dallas Mavericks, and, of course, her beloved Baylor Bears. Today, Holly serves as the worship pastor at Journey Christian Community in Waco, a role she calls one of God’s most unexpected blessings.

For Holly, “family” has always been at the heart of her Baylor experience, formed through the Golden Wave Band (shoutout, Logan [Scandling] Rundquist, BA '15) and the support she felt from fellow Bears during her Voice journey. “I will never, ever forget how my Baylor family supported me, rooted for me, voted for me, and stood by me throughout my experience on The
Voice my sophomore year,” she says. “Even today, 12 years later, I still have people say to me, ‘I voted for you!’ and that just amazes and humbles me. It was a true blessing.”

As we get ready to welcome back the Class of 2015 for Reunion Remix, Holly’s story is the perfect reminder of what makes Baylor so special. So, Class of '15, consider this your cue to grab your friends or family and get ready to celebrate like it’s 2015 all over again!
