How Baylor Helped Shape an Entrepreneurial Dream
For Alyssa Paschke (BA ’23), entrepreneurship has always been second nature. In early 2020 during the pandemic, she began experimenting with custom apparel as a creative outlet. Little did she know, this quarantine project would spark her passion for creating and running a small business!
As a Communication major, she developed skills in storytelling, content creation, and digital media that became essential in growing her online presence. She credits Dr. Jane Damron for creating a classroom environment that was both challenging and deeply supportive — one where students felt seen, encouraged, and empowered to pursue their goals, including ventures beyond campus.
Wanting to sharpen her strategy, Aly added a minor in Entrepreneurship, where courses in brand development and marketing helped her launch a curated online boutique. In 2022, she officially introduced Hey Lovely Boutique, expanding into inventory-based collections!
In January 2026, she opened her first storefront in Austin — just months after welcoming a new baby in November (future Bear, perhaps?). Aly’s journey reflects creativity, resilience, and bold Baylor spirit.
