Teaching Little Hearts Big Truths
Dog mom, author, entrepreneur—and proud Baylor Bear—Anna Reiman (BBA ’13) is on a heartfelt mission to share God’s love with the next generation, all featuring her mini Goldendoodle, Cowboy.
It began when her four-year-old nephew’s hunger and questions to understand God sparked a creative fire in Anna. While having a Bible study one morning, she felt a strong stirring to do something about this calling. Then, stories about Cowboy her pup teaching Bible truths began to come to her—one while driving down I-30, another on a plane—as if they were a direct gift from God. The verse that weighed heavily on her heart was clear: “Let the little children come to me...” (Matthew 19:14). She found herself praying and wondering what she could do to help children know Jesus better.
Though working full-time as a Chief Investment Officer and Managing Director at a family office in Dallas, Anna could not ignore this calling. It wasn’t a side project she planned; it was a mission she felt compelled to pursue outside of work. Drawing on the practical skills she gained at Baylor, especially from her Business Fellows classes in finance, economics, and entrepreneurship, she began to craft a unique way to share biblical truths with children.
Baylor’s support has been a steady encouragement on her journey. From the education that helped her navigate crucial business decisions – such as forming an LLC, securing copyrights and trademarks, and opening bank accounts – to opportunities like sharing her story with the Baylor Angel Network, Anna has leaned on her Baylor community every step of the way.
With a clear vision, Anna authored, illustrated, and self-published Cowboy’s Big City Adventures to keep the process hands-on and personal. Printing in the United States was important to her, and she made sure to be involved in everything from creating the artwork to packaging and marketing. The series follows Cowboy as he explores big city life while teaching children some of the most important Bible truths, helping parents explain complicated ideas in a way little hearts can understand.
The stories are also deeply rooted in Anna’s own Dallas life. In The Uptown Pup, you can see everything from construction and recognizable buildings to her local dog park and the people she sees every day, giving the books a warm, relatable feel.
In just one year, Anna’s books have found their way into 16 stores across four states. Cowboy himself often joins live book readings and Sunday school classes. Now, Cowboy is stepping off the page and into new spaces with the recent launch of Cowboy’s Bible Adventures on YouTube—bringing these beloved stories to life in a fun, free, and accessible format for families everywhere.
At the heart of it all is Anna’s simple but powerful mission: every child should know how much Jesus loves them—a message that continues to reach more young hearts through her creativity, commitment, and Cowboy. 💛
